Five-hundred people from across Harringay carried lanterns together on Friday in a "powerful" display of community action.
People carried paper lanterns made by children from the area to Fairland Park in the Harringay Ladder.
Hugh Flouch, who attended the parade, said: “It was great. For me it was particularly powerful because it was a really symbolic display of community unity.
“People from all parts of Harringay working together to make lanterns to do something together.
“There was a real sense of jubilation and enjoyment.”
The lantern parade is the first of its kind, but Mr Flouch said it was so successful he would be “surprised” if it was not recreated next year.
