The coroner in the Mark Duggan inquest is to publish a report of issues that deserve “further examination or question”.

Judge Keith Cutler said a number of concerns been raised during the inquest into the death of the 29-year-old, which could cause a “risk of other fatalities”.

On Wednesday, a jury ruled an armed police officer had lawfully killed Mr Duggan during an operation in Ferry Lane, Tottenham, on August 4, 2011.

Judge Cutler said: “I do not want to be part of a justice system which, in a case of this nature, simply closes the file and moves on to the next.”

The coroner will publish the report under schedule five of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009.

He said: “I have an obligation to consider whether to make a report about anything revealed during the course of the investigation and inquest which raises concerns that there is a risk of other fatalities.”

Judge Cutler added: “Given the significant profile of this case I want to ensure that this process is transparent to all interested parties and the general public.”

All interested parties involved in the inquest have been asked to submit suggestions by the end of this month.

Mr Duggan’s family and friends reacted with fury to the verdict and are expected to seek a judicial review against it.
