A 14-year-old boy missing for almost two months was last seen three days ago, police have said today.
Tariq Monteiro, who is in the care of Camden Council, was reported missing by his foster parents in Tottenham on August 11.
Camden Police, who yesterday appealed for help in finding Tariq, said they did not appeal sooner as Tariq has been in “intermittent contact via phone” with his foster parents over the past two months.
A spokesman added that there have been occasional sightings of the teenager, including one three days ago, but he has not returned home and concerns are growing over his welfare.
A spokesman for Camden Council said: “Tariq Monteiro is a looked-after child and we are extremely concerned about his welfare.
“We are working closely with the police to do everything we can to find him and return him to a safe environment as soon as possible.”
