A man accused of ordering a hitman to kill a gang boss as part of an ongoing feud has been cleared of the charges.
Beytullah Gunduz, 28, of Finsbury Park, was suspected of ordering assassins to execute Zafer Eren, a member of the Tottenham Turks gang in Southgate last April, but was today found not guilty by an Old Bailey jury.
Mr Eren was shot by Jamie Marsh-Smith, who shot him in the back as he returned home before escaping with getaway driver Samuel Zerei.
Both Marsh-Smith and Zerei were jailed for life in July.
The killing was allegedly ordered in revenge for the killing of Ali Armagan, the head of the rival Hackney Turks gang.
Mr Armagan was shot in February 2012, while sitting behind the wheel of his blacked-out Audi A8 in Langham Parade, behind Turnpike Lane station.
The Eren and Armagan families have allegedly been battling for control over drugs distribution and racketeering operations since 2009.
