A FIFTH man has been charged over a foiled plot to release two criminals from police custody during which a man was killed.
Izzet Eren, 32, will appear in court accused of conspiracy to escape lawful custody and possession of an imitation firearm.
No further action was taken against another man who was arrested for the same offences.
Eren, along with Erwin Amoyaw-Gyamfi, was sentenced to 14 years for a range of gun crimes on the afternoon of Friday, 11 December at Wood Green Crown Court.
Earlier that day, police had intercepted an alleged attempt to break the two men from custody. During the operation, 28-year-old Jermaine Baker was shot and killed, resulting in the arrest of a police marksman.
A further four men have been arrested and charged as part of the suspected plot.
Eren will appear in custody at Bromley Magistrates' Court on 3 February.
