Motorists using roads in the vicinity of four schools in Haringey are facing restrictions from the start of next month when experimental safety measures are introduced.
A notice from Haringey Council in this week’s edition of the Enfield Independent details the measures that will take effect in roads close to Belmont Junior School, Coleridge Primary School, Earlham Junior and Infants School and Mulberry Primary School from September 1.
The restrictions will mean vehicles, except those with a permit, will be prohibited from entering areas of certain roads between prescribed hours during school term times.
The affected roads and prescribed hours are as follows:
- Zone SS21: Waverley Road N8 – from its junction with the eastern kerb line of Crouch End Hill south east to its junction with the northern kerb line of Haslemere Road; Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 3.30pm.
- Zone SS21: Haslemere Road N8 – from its junction with the eastern kerb line of Crouch End Hill generally east to its junction with the south western kerb line of Crouch Hill; Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 3.30pm.
- Zone SS22: Earlham Grove N22 – from the eastern kerb line of the access road leading to George Meehan House and Register Office (approximately 86 metres east of the eastern kerb line of the High Road), east for its remaining length; Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 9.15am and 2.15pm to 3.45pm.
- Zone SS23: Parkhurst Avenue N17 – from its junction with the southern kerb line of Scotland Green, south to its junction with the northern kerb line of Thackeray Avenue; Monday to Friday, 8.15am to 9.15am and 3pm to 4pm.
- Zone SS23: Sherringham Avenue N17 – from its junction with the eastern kerb line of Parkhurst Avenue, east to its junction with the western kerb line of Cromer Road; Monday to Friday, 8.15am to 9.15am and 3pm to 4pm.
- Zone SS23: Seymour Avenue N17 – from its junction with the eastern kerb line Parkhurst Avenue, east to its junction with the western kerb line of Hollington Road; Monday to Friday, 8.15am to 9.15am and 3pm to 4pm.
- Zone SS09: Bishopswood Road – from the south eastern kerb line of Broadlands Road to its junction with Hampstead Lane; Monday to Friday, 8am to 9.15am and 2.30pm to 3.45pm.
The properties eligible for permits are as follows:
- Zone SS21: Waverley Road; Haslemere Road; Oakfield Court; Albert Mansions; 113 Crouch Hill; 77-81 Crouch End Hill (inc Monkridge).
- Zone SS22: 1-14 Earlham Grove.
- Zone SS23: 10-60 Parkhurst Road (evens); 17-31 Parkhurst Road (odds); 1-31 Sherringham Avenue (odds); 2-34 Sherringham Avenue (evens); 1-65 Seymour Avenue (odds); 2-78 Seymour Avenue (evens).
- Zone SS09: 1-9 Bishopswood Road; 22 Hampstead Lane.
In addition, no loading at any time restrictions will be introduced in lengths of Haslemere Road, Crouch End Hill, Crouch Hill, Cromer Road, Sherringham Avenue, Hollington Road, Windsor Road, Seymour Avenue, Thackeray Avenue, Parkhurst Road, Hampstead Lane, Bishopswood Road and Broadlands Road.
The orders will remain in place for a maximum of 18 months and the council will consider in “due course” whether they should be made permanent.
