A number of roads in and around Enfield are set to be temporarily closed for lengthy periods due to roadworks.
Notices from Enfield Council in this week’s edition of the Enfield Independent outline the extent of the closures and other restrictions that may be implemented while the works are carried out.
Utility works are set to close part of Hazelbury Green N9 for six weeks from Monday.
Vehicles will be prohibited form entering or proceeding onto Hazelbury Green from its junction with Chalfont Road, and waiting and loading will also be prevented along a section of the road.
Access will be maintained for residents during the closure “only as far as the works allow”.
Also from Monday, part of Allens Road EN3 is due to be shut for 31 days for roadworks.
This closure is set to be in place between the common boundary of Nos. 3/5 and its junction with High Street.
Water works mean part of Derby Road EN3 is set to be closed to drivers for 48 days from September 19.
The closure will be in place at its junction with Lincoln Road and junction with High Street, and waiting and loading measures will also be implemented.
Again, access for residents will be maintained “only as far as the works allow”.
Traffic restrictions are set to be introduced in Borden Avenue EN1 and Elmscott Gardens N21 due to resurfacing works starting later this month.
Borden Avenue, from its junction with Sittingbourne Avenue to a point in line with where Borden Avenue meets Faversham Avenue, is due to be shut for five weeks from September 20, as and when directed by signs.
Waiting and loading measures will also be in place during this time.
Resurfacing works are also due to be carried out in the full length of Elmscott Gardens for four weeks from October 25.
There will be no road closure in this instance but waiting and loading restrictions will apply.
