Resurfacing work is set to lead to a number of roads being temporarily shut overnight in the Windmill Hill area of Enfield on Friday.
The closures are detailed in notices from Enfield Council in this week’s edition of the Enfield and Haringey Independent.
The works are set to prohibit vehicles from using the following lengths of road, as and when directed by signs, from 9pm on Friday until 5am the following morning:
- Windmill Hill EN2 – from a point in line 30m west of the western flank wall of No. 11 to a point in line with the common boundary of Nos. 63 and 65. The alternative route is via Windmill Hill, Chase Side, Lavender Hill, The Ridgeway and vice versa.
- Chase Court Gardens – at its junction with Windmill Hill. The alternative route is via Chase Court Gardens, Chase Green Avenue, Chase Side, Lavender Hill, The Ridgeway and vie versa.
- Gladbeck Way – from its junction with Windmill Hill to a point in line with the rear of the Government offices and No. 39 Gresham Close. There is no alternative route.
- The access road fronting Nos. 1 to 14 Waverley Court – at its junction with Windmill Hill. There is no alternative route.
- Florence Avenue – at its junction with Windmill Hill. There is no alternative road.
Meanwhile, utility works are set to lead to an 18-day closure in Sweet Briar Grove N9 from Monday.
Motorists will be prohibited from entering the road from its junction with Northern Avenue southwards for a distance of 50m; and from its junction with Central Avenue southwards for a distance of 50m.
The diversion routes will be via Central Avenue, Haselbury Road, Northern Avenue and vie versa; and Central Avenue, Haselbury Road, Chalfont Road and vice versa.
The council is also proposing to introduce new at any time waiting restrictions – double yellow lines – at these locations:
- Arundel Gardens, at its junction with Haslemere Road
- Calshot Way, at the southern end of the cul-de-sac
- Cobham Close, at its junction with Haslemere Road
- Haslemere Road, at its junction with Arundel Gardens and Fernleigh Road
- Jules Thorn Avenue on the bend, and at its junction with Cobham Close
- Moffat Road, at the southern end of the road
