A worker at north London's incinerator construction site has died.
Work at Edmonton EcoPark’s energy recovery facility has been suspended after the worker died last Wednesday (November 23).
Renewable energy and infrastructure conglomerate Acciona and North London Waste Authority have confirmed the death of a colleague working at the site.
A statement reads: “As a result work on the Energy Recovery Facility site has been suspended.
“Our heartfelt thoughts are with the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased team member. We are offering support to those affected during this extremely difficult time.”
The Metropolitan Police and Health and Safety Executive (HSE) are investigating the case.
A HSE spokesperson said: “HSE is aware of this incident and investigating with the Metropolitan Police.”
