Part of a library affected by crumbling concrete is set to reopen - although access to computers will be limited.

The adults' section of Hornsey Library, in Haringey Park, was closed on March 12 after reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (Raac) was found in the roof.

Haringey Council undertook "urgent work" and plans to partially reopen this section on June 10.

The council says there will be limited access to computers in the adults section.

Other parts of the library did not contain Raac and were not affected.

The council said on its website: "The safety of library users has been – and will always be – the number one priority and it has naturally taken some time to ensure that all the necessary precautions are in place so that no members of the public or library staff are put at risk.

"These safety measures on-site remain a temporary solution while the council develops comprehensive plans for the removal of Raac.

"Despite the partial re-opening of the adults’ section, there remains limited access to PCs at Hornsey Library."

David Winskill, a member of the Friends of Hornsey Library group, said: "It's good that the space is now reopening and I hope that more PCs will become available over time."

Stroud Green and Harringay Library, in Quernmore Road, remains open.

Haringey Council has been contacted.
