A man was seen “clutching his chest” after a stabbing that led to a Tube station being closed.
Seven Sisters station on Seven Sisters Road was closed this morning (July 23) after reports of a serious assault at 8.48am.
A male, whose age has not been mentioned, was taken to hospital with injuries consistent with "being stabbed", the British Transport Police said.
His injuries are thought to be life threatening.
One person, who wishes to be anonymous, said she was on her way to work when she saw a man “clutching his chest saying he’d been stabbed”.
She added: “Multiple emergency service vehicles arrived on the scene within seconds and he was being resuscitated at the scene at the tube exit nearest to West Green Road.
“It was horrendous.”
Another eyewitness, Adam Reay, said: “I saw a paramedic holding a blood bag for the victim at the top of the stairs to the station. I heard they had been attacked, potentially fatally.”
Two females have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
One has also been further arrested on suspicion of common assault.
The suspects remain in police custody and enquires are ongoing.
The underground station remains closed while officers investigate. Police say passengers will see an increased policing presence in the area.
Earlier today the road was closed after dozens of emergency vehicles were seen in the area.
There is now queueing traffic, with a bus lane closed.
Congestion continues to Stamford Hill, and back down Seven Sisters Road to St Ann's Road.
There are still several police vehicles attending Seven Sisters Station.
