A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing at a Tube station.

Police were called to Seven Sisters station at around 8.45am yesterday morning (July 23) to reports of a serious assault.

A man who was found at the scene with injuries consistent with being stabbed was rushed to hospital.

British Transport Police have said he remains in a life-threatening condition.

A spokesperson for the force confirmed today (July 24) that a 17-year-old boy had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

It comes after a woman aged 18 and a girl aged 15 were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

The younger teenager has also been arrested on suspicion of common assault.

Police have said they are interested in speaking with two men seen leaving the station down the A10 towards South Tottenham station.

Detectives believe they have information that could help their investigation.

Detective Superintendent Sam Blackburn said yesterday: “There is no place for violence on the rail network and detectives are working at pace to investigate the circumstances of this incident.

“Two people remain in custody following arrests made earlier today.

“The travelling public will see increased high-visibility patrols in the area and across the network as a visible reassurance.”

Any witnesses, or anyone with information about the two men, is urged to contact British Transport Police by calling 0800 405040, or texting 61016, quoting reference 171 of 23 July.

Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously by calling 0800 555 111.
