A person has died after an incident on the Elizabeth line at a busy west London train station.

A casualty on the tracks was reported at Hanwell station at around 10.30pm yesterday (October 14).

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended, and a person was taken to hospital where they later died.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

All trains between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport were closed as the incident was dealt with.

However, it has since reopened.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “We were called to Hanwell station at around 10.30pm on Monday, 15 October following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Officers attended along with paramedics and a person was taken to hospital where they sadly later died.

“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
