CLAIMS have been made that Baby Peter's birth father is planning to sue Haringey Council for more than £200,000 compensation.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has taken early retirement from work since his son's death in August 2007 because of grief.
He plans to sue on the grounds that council staff failed to spot the danger his 17-month-old son was in.
Social workers and other professionals had contact with Peter more than 60 times in the last eight months of his life, when he was on Haringey's Child Protection Register.
Another lawsuit against the local authority has also been lodged by sacked children's services director Sharon Shoesmith.
Haringey Council has refused to comment.
