A VISION of a black Santa Claus soaring above Wood Green's landmark Shopping City sign has helped a Crouch End schoolboy win an annual Christmas card competition.
Zoom Rockman, 10, who attends Rokesly Junior School, in Rokesly Avenue, won over Hornsey and Wood Green MP with his contemporary design which successfully saw off hundreds of other entries.
Lynne Featherstone has hosted the annual competition for the past five years and rewards the winner with an opportunity to see their creation printed on the front of the thousands of festive greeting cards she sends out.
The Liberal Democrat MP said: "Zoom's Wood Green Santa was truly eye catching. It feels really contemporary and fun and I’m really looking forward to seeing it on the cover of my Christmas card.
"The students at Hornsey and Wood Green’s Primary Schools never fail to impress me with their innovation and fun creations. Thanks also to the runner-up Georgia Aberdeen and Katy O’Neill for their colourful and clever designs."
Zoom also wins a certificate and book vouchers while the runners-up, Georgia Aberdeen from Highgate Primary and Katy O’Neill from Campsbourne Primary, will see their handiwork printed on the back of the card.
