PARKING restrictions in Crouch End are being extended to include even more roads.

Haringey Council, who are enforcing the Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) extension, said they had made the decision after some residents complained of drivers taking up spaces outside their homes.

Councillor Nilgun Canver, cabinet member for neighbourhoods, said: !Residents asked us to look at extending the CPZ and I hope this helps solve some of the parking problems they have experienced."

But it admitted there were some residents who oppose the scheme which means they will now have to fork out for an annual parking permit with extra fees for guests.

The extension will come into effect on April 1, 2011, between 2pm and 4pm from Monday to Friday.
