A SEX attacker who lured his victim with conversation before assaulting her is being hunted by Haringey police.
The man followed the 18-year-old woman from Muswell Hill Broadway in the early hours of Sunday morning, and began chatting to her as she walked to Farrer Road.
But as soon as she made the left turn near the junction with Park Road, Hornsey, the suspect forced her to the ground and sexually assaulted her.
He is described as being of Mediterranean appearance, 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins tall, of stocky build with a bald or shaved head.
It is believed he was wearing a long-sleeved shirt and dark trousers.
Detective Constable Lucy Bowie, of Haringey CID, said: "I am grateful to a number of witnesses who have already come forward and appeal for anyone else with information to contact us.
"I am particularly keen to speak with a member of public that we understand had been walking down Muswell Hill prior to the assault."
The man was last seen heading back towards Muswell Hill following the attack, which took place between 3.45am and 4.30am, on Sunday, January 16.
No arrests have been made.
Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Lucy Bowie of Haringey CID on 020 8345 0737, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
