A FIRE which destroyed a Tottenham pub in the early hours of Monday morning is being treated as arson by detectives.
The ground floor of The Antwerp Arms in Church Road was gutted by the blaze at around 12.30am, that left the 47-year-old landlord needing hospital treatment for smoke inhalation after being rescued from the first-floor balcony.
Officers are appealing to three men seen walking together in the area at the time of the fire to contact them, who they believe could provide “crucial” evidence.
A woman living in nearby Prospect Place told the Haringey Independent on Monday that the fire – which took seven hours to put out – was “terrifying”.
Anyone with information should contact Detective Constable Matt Lever of Haringey CID on 0208 345 0831.
