The first signs of work around the Spurs stadium project can be seen as hoardings go up around the development site in north Tottenham.
The new hoardings along the High Road and Paxton Road mark the start of construction work on the site which will include a supermarket, commercial space, and a 56,000-seater stadium which is expected to be completed by 2016.
Work on the new supermarket, which will be a Sainsbury’s, is expected to begin in September with a tender process for the construction of the stadium itself to begin soon.
In a statement on its website, the club said: “We continue to work closely with the Mayor and Haringey Council as we look to deliver this major sport-led regeneration in Tottenham.”
Around the new stadium there will also be 280 new homes which will not be built until the current White Hart Lane stadium is demolished in 2016.
There are also plans for improvements to roads and public transport at White Hart Lane Station and Tottenham Hale Station.
