With Pancake Day just a few days away, you may be planning on beating the rush and taking a trip to your local supermarket to buy all the ingredients

But before you head out it's worth checking which store offers the cheapest ingredients so you can save some extra cash. 

And thanks to Consumer finance experts Little-Loans we've been able to find all that handy information for you.

Each supermarket was ranked for their value for money for the same nine items found in each store. 

Those items are:

  • Six eggs 
  • Plain white flour 
  • One pint of semi-skimmed milk 
  • Caster sugar 
  • Lemon juice 
  • Chocolate spread 
  • Strawberries 
  • Golden syrup 
  • Blueberries

Which supermarket sells the cheapest Pancake Day ingredients?

In first place for the cheapest supermarket is bargain supermarket Aldi with all the items costing £8.06 making it just £2.69 per head.

Swiftly behind are Asda and Tesco with each costing just over £3 per head to make a stack of pancakes. 

Surprisingly, fellow bargain supermarket Lidl ranks below Tesco with all the items costing £9.74 making it £3.25 per person. 

Sainsbury's will cost you £10.22 at £3.41 per person, whilst Morrisons is an extra pound at £11.22 and £3.74 per person. 

At £11.30 and £3.77 per person, Waitrose has ranked in the more expensive end at spot 7. 

The Co-op is the second most expensive supermarket with the items costing £12.79 making it £4.26 per person.

But the most expensive supermarket to buy all your Pancake Day needs is M&S, with a basket costing £14.25 meaning it will cost you £4.75 per person.
