Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris captained France to a 5-2 win over Switzerland this evening to all but seal France's progress to the second round of the World Cup.
The former Lyon gloveman was relatively untroubled until late goals from Blerim Dzemaili and Granit Xhaka clawed back some respectability for the Swiss.
France went ahead through Olivier Giroud in the 17th minute before Blaise Matuidi doubled up a minute later.
Mathieu Valbuena added a third a minute before the break to send Didier Deschamps' side in 3-0 up at half-time.
Karim Benzema scored the fourth with a clever finish before Moussa Sissoko rattled in a fifth from an acute angle.
And the Real Madrid forward could have scored a second - and his fourth of the tournament - when he coolly planted a sweeping effort into the top-corner seconds after the referee had blown the full-time whistle.
The win leaves France top of Group E after two matches.
On Wednesday evening, Benoit Assou-Ekotto's Cameroon exited the tournament with a 4-0 loss against Croatia.
Ivica Olic scored after 11 minutes before Ivan Perisic scored the second three minutes after half-time.
A second-half brace from Mario Mandzukic put the gloss on the win for Niko Kovac's side.
