The National Football League has announced its 2024 International Games - with more action at Tottenham and Wembley.
Minnesota Vikings will kick off the league’s return to Europe on Sunday, October 6, as they play New York Jets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - the only purpose-built NFL stadium outside of the US.
The following Sunday (October 13) sees Chicago Bears play Jacksonville Jaguars at the same north London venue.
The focus then shifts to Wembley Stadium as the Jaguars take on six-time Superbowl winners New England Patriots on Sunday, October, 20.
It is the second time Jacksonville will play back-to-back games in the UK, marking the team’s 12th and 13th regular season games in London.
“The 2024 NFL London Games promise to be a football spectacle once again for fans in the UK and beyond,” said GM NFL UK & Ireland Henry Hodgson.
“We have played games in London since 2007, and there has never been greater interest in the sport here. We look forward to welcoming the teams to the capital later this year, engaging new fans and bringing the game to new audiences.”
Jaguars owner Shahid Khan added: “We’ve worked hard over the past decade-plus to establish the Jacksonville Jaguars as the home team for NFL fans in London, the United Kingdom and now Ireland.
“Playing back-to-back games in London for the second consecutive year speaks to that commitment. We’re going to make the most of it, especially in the days ahead of our traditional home game at Wembley Stadium vs the Patriots on October 20.”
Jets President Hymie Elhai said: “We are excited to have the opportunity to play against the Minnesota Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this upcoming season.
“Over the last few years, we've seen our roots grow in the United Kingdom, as we've worked to expand our fan base beyond our domestic boarders.
"This will be yet another opportunity to entertain and engage with our fans in the United Kingdom and showcase the best of the New York Jets on British soil.”
Patriots chairman and CEO Robert Kraft added: “We look forward to returning to London to play in historic Wembley Stadium for the third time.
“There is no venue in which we have had greater success and no road game where New Englanders have felt more at home. We hope this year’s experience is as successful and as memorable as each of our prior games in London.”
The NFL Academy will also return to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday, October, 8 to play US high school De La Salle from Concord, California.
The NFL Academy is an elite football development program for talented student athletes based in the UK, delivered in partnership with Loughborough College and Loughborough University.
Since its inception, more than 40 NFL Academy alumni have secured college football scholarships in the US, with over 30 students set to play college football in the 2024 season - 19 in Division One programmes.
