NATIONAL LEAGUE TWO
London Skolars 15
Keighley Cougars 12

A week after announcing their hopes of joining London Broncos in Rugby League's top tier by 2010, Wood Green-based London Skolars chalked up their second win of the season and their first on home soil by a narrow margin over fellow strugglers Keighley Cougars on Saturday.

Lee Sanderson, an on-loan Bronco who is making his way back into the game after a lengthy lay-off a with knee injury, made his Skolars debut at scrum-half and his pace and guile was a major factor in the victory.

He also appeared to have a galvanising effect on his colleagues, with Aussie Brett Blaker having one of his finest games to date in a Skolars shirt.

Trailing 0-6 at the break, despite having more of the ball, Skolars came flying out the traps in the second period. Tries from Austen Aggrey (46min), Mike Castle (66) and Ade Aderiye (69) gave the hosts a thrilling win.

Joint coach Marcus Tobin said afterwards he was delighted' and relieved'. Next up for Skolars is a visit to fifth-placed Swinton Lions, where Skolars will be hoping to win back-to-back games for the first time this season.
