Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has admitted he wanted to take new Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker to the Britannia Stadium.
The Potters were able to bring in Spurs duo Peter Crouch and Wilson Palacios on deadline day last week, but Pulis had to concede defeat in his quest for Parker, who opted for a switch to White Hart Lane.
The midfielder is settled in London but was the subject of much transfer speculation following West Ham’s relegation to the Championship.
Pulis told The Sentinel: “We did have a go for Parker. It was something we were trying to do for a few weeks.”
